You are making an erroneous assumption that animals have an inherent right to life, a concept I flatly reject. There is no “right” to anything in the natural universe.

Rights is a human-created ethical and legal construction that helps in governing affairs among human beings. As a concept, it is dependent on the fact that humans, as a species, are a rational entity that can take responsibility for their behavior toward one another and reciprocate ethical behavior ( aka entering into the social contract ). Animals, however, play by a different set of rules. They do not enter into a rational, reciprocal social contract with each other or with humans, nor do they take responsibility for their behavior. Really, I-US if you actually believe animals have a right to life, why aren’t you out policing nature? There are marauding packs of wolves and prides of lions out there intent on depriving other animals of their right to life.
